Very interesting and intriguing. These certainly raise at least one question: What are they for? Are sports or cultural spectaculars held here so the benches are for patrons?

With them all so close and facing the same way it looks like a theatre set-up.
Wouldn't it be nice if benches came with footstools in the first place?

You know, guys, I was wondering that too, what these benches are for. There appears to be no stage of any kind. And they certainly did not look like they were part of the original layout design. Maybe for tour groups to sit and get a backgrounder? That's a wild guess.
It's a nice composition, and you may be right about the tour thing.
