The awful sign “Magazzino Vignaccia”, spoiling the whole view, means: warehouse Bad Vineyard. It takes the name from where once stood the Vatican vineyard, notorious for the production of bad wine.
@ VP - In looking through my Vatican pictures, I see that Leo XIII had an equally enormous billboard. I believe it may be the white thing on the far right of this photo.

ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have a translator. The sign is horribly placed, but also the Pius IX Pontifex Maximus sign is HUGE.
