    I see they've had to adjust for slanting ground the same as in Astoria, and there is no hidden meaning there.

  3. The awful sign “Magazzino Vignaccia”, spoiling the whole view, means: warehouse Bad Vineyard. It takes the name from where once stood the Vatican vineyard, notorious for the production of bad wine.

  4. It's nice to have a translator. The sign is horribly placed, but also the Pius IX Pontifex Maximus sign is HUGE.

  6. @ VP - In looking through my Vatican pictures, I see that Leo XIII had an equally enormous billboard. I believe it may be the white thing on the far right of this photo.
