That is long and it is marble which means it's probably rather hard on one's bottom! Does it have a function such as serving as a place for diners to wait while their table is being readied?

Looks like it serves a double function, also as a fence for the dining area.

Another bench hard on the butt. If it's used to seat people waiting to get into an over-crowded restaurant, I hope the waits aren't long... and yet how likely is that in Italy?

An unusual bench, but my attention was caught by the ghosts. I thought it was theatre at first. Or a hanging.
