I think I'd like the garden more than the bench...looks hard and cold and needs a pressure washing! But I suppose on a hot day (if it ever gets hot in Portland) it would be a welcome place to set oneself down!

@ Jacob, Portland does get hot and humid. We have totally different weather here on the coast. And every time I got near the bench, someone was sitting on it, so this is with a long zoom. Yeah, the garden was nice that day.

That's a unique way to commemorate someone... Not too sure I like it, and I wouldn't want a bunch of strangers sitting on ME, but hey, it's certainly different. Who is this man, Tapirgal, or do we care?
